Wedding Films We Love (That We’d Love to Recreate With You)
We’re drawn to wedding films that feel like real life, not highlight reels. The kind that sit with the quiet moments. That aren’t about showing off, but about telling the story honestly.
These films have stayed with us. Not because they’re flashy, but because they’re human. Thoughtful. Uncomplicated. And if you're looking for something similar, something that actually reflects you - we’d love to talk.
Here are a few that have inspired how we shoot.
🎥 Georgia & Jake – Marry Me Movies
Why it works: Natural light, clean audio, soft movement, and space to just be. No music video pacing, no heavy-handed transitions. It feels like you're being let in quietly.
How we’d approach it: A ceremony by the coast. Slow moments. Letting things unfold without too much direction. Could be incredible at Injidup, Bunker Bay, or even somewhere unexpected and simple.
🎥 Aisling & Jonny – Humdrum Films
Why it works: The voiceover feels honest - like a letter, not a performance. The pacing is slow, but it holds you. Strong sense of place, people, and why they’re there.
How we’d approach it: Something a little more reflective. A forest or vineyard wedding where sound and story matter. Pre-wedding audio or letter reading, woven into the visuals. Real over perfect.
🎥 Louisa & Doug – Alex Motta
Why it works: No distractions. No overproduction. Just a calm, steady look at two people and the energy around them. Feels personal, not posed.
How we’d approach it: This would suit a candle-lit reception, a winter ceremony, or a more minimal wedding where the focus is on people and presence, not styling.
🎥 Penny & Lachie – Humdrum Films
Why it works: It's not afraid to sit still. To hold on a shot just a bit longer. There’s room for the story to breathe. Emotion without any dressing up.
How we’d approach it: A property wedding with history. Maybe a farm, a backyard, or somewhere that already feels like home. We’d spend time capturing small things: hands, glances, pauses.
🎥 Meg & Dan – Bottlebrush Films
Why it works: A little chaotic, in a good way. It doesn’t try to be timeless, it just is. You get a clear sense of who they are, without being told.
How we’d approach it: For couples who don’t care about doing things the “right” way. Who laugh a lot, dance early, and don’t worry if their dress gets dirty. Could be anywhere: Fremantle, a field, a pub.
🎥 Sarah & Myles – Goldbear Films
Why it works: Clean framing, soft sound, emotion without any dramatics. It captures the day honestly, and lets the couple lead the energy.
How we’d approach it: A classic Perth venue. City Farm, Lamont’s, or even something suburban. It’s not about the place, it’s about how you let the day unfold.
